On 8 December 2023, MetaMask, a well-known software cryptocurrency wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain, revealed its cooperation with platforms in six countries: Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Egypt, and Chile.
According to the announcement, MetaMask will work with VietQR and Mobile Money in Vietnam, GCash in the Phillippines, QRIS in Indonesia, Thai QR in Thailand, Vodafone Cash in Egypt, and Webpay in Chile.
Besides that, MetaMask has also added local transfers in Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea, to further bolster the adoption of the extension.
This expansion has come to fruition in a partnership with Unlimit and TransFi. The aim is to provide local cryptocurrency payment and transfer options through the MetaMask wallet. In addition, this will not be limited by geographic location.
