The Trumps keep making headlines and 2022 is probably not going to be an exception to that. The latest one comes from the former US president’s wife who astounded the crypto world by endorsing Bitcoin on its birthday.
In her official tweet, she stated: “It is widely reported that Bitcoin's market cap exceeds USD$1 Trillion. Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Bitcoin Genesis Block. Happy Anniversary.”

Many were shocked to have discovered not only Melania’s interest in Bitcoin but also her apparent familiarity with Satoshi Nakamoto and the first Bitcoin block that they mined back in 2009.
This is not the first time that the former first lady has wowed the crypto community. Just last month she announced her NFT support through a Marc-Antoine Coulon collaboration on her NFT project “Melania’s Vision.”
Melania’s stance seems to have created a disagreement between the presidential couple as Donald Trump has been known to oppose cryptocurrencies and labeled Bitcoin as a scam in his Fox interview as recently as June of last year. He fears that the cryptocurrency might weaken the US dollar and calls for greater regulation.
All in all, as apparent from the Twitter replies, the community seems to be amused by Melania’s decision to “undermine” her husband with her crypto support, with some hoping she could change Trump’s stance on Bitcoin. However, as of today, a shift in his views seems highly unlikely.
