The Chinese digital yuan is facing a big test through the popular Didi Chuxing service, informs Bloomberg.
This service is a real giant of ride-hailing and can test this digital currency from every side. According to SofBank Group Corp., they are already working with the People’s Bank of China Research Center, and the aim is to test the use of this digital currency as legal tender.
Didi said in a Chinese statement:
DCEP will become a key infrastructure of digital economy,
It will work with the government to boost the integration of the digital economy with the real economy.
If the digital yuan proved to be effective and began to be used officially on the Didi platform, which has more than half a billion Chinese commuters, it would be a huge step forward and the adoption of this digital currency.
