José Luis Ramón as the National Deputy for Mendoza is starting to promote a bill that would allow employers to pay salaries for their employees in the cryptocurrency.
An Argentine lawmaker wrote on his twitter that this project was born a long time ago, specifically a few years ago when he participated in a Knowledge Economy Forum where he understood that cryptocurrencies offer benefits and can solve some problems.
The proposed law states "this measure, in addition to strengthening the autonomy of dependent and self-employed workers, offers them a modern mechanism to preserve the purchasing power of their remuneration without implying their conversion into foreign currency as it seeks to discourage Law 27,541. Likewise, this project allows self-employed workers who export services abroad to retain the purchasing power of their remuneration in the process of entering the country ”.
According to the Argentine daily, which refers to the proposed law, each employer should have the right to choose whether he is interested in this method and, if so, in what cryptocurrency he will pay his employees and also in what amount.
José Luis Ramón also added that this is especially for those employers who offer services abroad or are in a dependent relationship, so they can use cryptocurrencies as an alternative.
